Hello everyone, I'm Jonathan, and I'm the first to join (actually, the founder) of The Pokémon Expert! Let me tell you a story.....

Back a long time ago, I picked up a Pokémon Crystal Guardians booster pack, and opened it up excitedly, along with a Yu-Gi-Oh booster pack. I opened both of them up, then went back to my life for three months. I picked up both of the booster packs, and messed around with them. I then learned the rules to each, bought a theme deck for each, then started playing. After a while, I ditched Yu-Gi-Oh as I had found a home in Pokémon.

Now let's fast-forward 6 months ahead. I had been playing the TCG for 6 months. Every game was just the same old song and dance, you enter the game, you get destroyed. It was then I decided Pokémon was just a waste of my time, and I quit.

After going another 6 months without Pokémon, I came back, and started playing the Video Games. I started with a copy of Pokémon Platinum Version, a gift from a relative. It was then I realized; I had lost my DS. I executed a long search that night, and found it. I played that game until I collapsed and fell asleep.

About 2 months past that time, I picked up a copy of Pokémon Diamond, because I discovered Flygon was only available in D/P. I beat the game after about a month (I was a n00b back then), and then I just caught Flygon, traded to Platinum, and put down Pokémon Diamond for a very long time.

Let's zoom another 3 months. By that time in Platinum, I had a Level 100 Infernape, Level 100 Tyranitar, and a bunch of Pokémon that ranged from Level 60-Level 64. And in my PC box were Pokémon that were all in their 50's through E4 training, including: Machamp, Dragonite, Salamence, Flygon (from Diamond), Garchomp, and other super-strong Pokémon. It was fun, but starting to become routine.

The routine ended not too long from then. My dog was left at home, with my precious copy of Pokémon Platinum just laying around. You guessed right. I came home, and spotted a copy of Pokémon Platinum, chewed up like a Poochyena biscuit. I started playing Diamond again, being angry about all my precious progress that I worked so hard to get, just- gone. However, I had traded all my Pokémon over to Platinum in exchange for Pokémon like Sunkern, Feebas, and Magikarp. I put down Pokémon games for a while.

But my interest in Pokémon didn't end there. I was still a bit of a watcher of the animé, but I had just sprang back in to the TCG. I made various decks (and n00bish ones, at that), like Rayquaza C, a crappy Arceus, and many others. There was really nothing to tell about that- I got beaten like a Magikarp every time.

Leap from there to 5 months later. After about 2 months after Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver came out, I bought the former. I started with Totodile, and took the long journey to beat Lance. I struggled and struggled- My Feraligatr was my highest leveled Pokémon, at Level 45. I'd send out my Thunder Red G-Dos to OHKO his G-Dos, he'd send out Dragonite/Aerodactyl. If it was Dragonite, I could hope for a miss on D Rush, and 2HKO Dragonite with Ice Fang. If it was Aerodactyl, it would Thunder Fang my Feraligatr and OHKO it, and that was the end.
About a month later, I beat him (after trading over a Dialga from Diamond, and losing once due to a critical hit from Charizard's Air Slash). It felt satisfying.

I then restarted, and got Cyndaquil. I took a while, beat Lance (Take a Thunderbolt from an Ampharos if you dare, Aerodactyl!), waited about a month, and beat Red. I still have the game to this very day- but several of the Pokémon I caught (like Mewtwo) are now in my Pokémon White cartridge. About that....

I heard the news of Pokémon Black and White. I was extremely excited, and I have to say, so far I haven't dissed a SINGLE ONE of the new Pokémon! Anyway, I heard it came out in Japan, and immediately thought about buying a Japanese copy. I decided I didn't need to, so I waited.....and waited......and waited......

And March 6, 2011 arrived. I slept in, grabbed $40, and went directly to GameStop. I got my pre-ordered copy, and played for the rest of the day. I kept playing, and playing.......And I caught a Shellder. It's nothing big, I know- But I intended to EV Train my first Pokémon. I looked up the IVs- 29 Attack IVs! Awesome. 0 Speed IVs....not so awesome. But I immediately started EV training Shellder. I got about 79 Attack IVs in, then I learned it was timid. I quit for about a week, then played some more.

That brings us to the present day. I currently watch the Pokémon Black & White animé optimistically, and play Pokémon games actively.

I love Pokémon.
